With each passing month, the hope for an improvement in relations between Russia and Ukraine becomes more and more illusory. The once friendly state for Russia is trying hard to become a part of the European world. There have always been people in Ukraine who adhere to anti-Russian views. Basically, this is a certain layer of the western part of the country, which borders on countries such as Poland, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. The relations of the above states with Russia have always been difficult. This has been the case historically.

In recent years, Hungary has begun to rethink the importance of cooperation with Russia. The countries interact in the economic sphere, coal supplies are made. However, relations between Russia and Hungary are still in a phase of uncertainty. Hungary is attracted by the possibility of close cooperation with Russia, but at the same time it supports anti-Russian sanctions.

Romania has never been a supporter of Russia. For many years the relations of the countries have been more like hostile than friendly or even neutral. Due to the aggravated situation in Ukraine, the situation has become even more complicated. Romanians, like many opponents of Russia, were outraged by the annexation of Crimea.

Moscow received the right to control the supply of raw materials or cut them off if necessary. In this case, cooperation with Moscow will become a necessity for countries whose trade routes are threatened with closure. Other countries have been dramatically deprived of these opportunities. The United States must come to terms with the idea of that their military strength does not prevail in the region. Thus, NATO is gradually losing its authority among the countries of the Black Sea region, and Moscow is becoming its main partner.

The Black Sea is a geostrategically important site. That is why the declaration of Crimea to the Russians was a serious blow to the United States and NATO. The possession of this territory gives Russia many opportunities and advantages. Undoubtedly, dominance in this region presupposes a military advantage, namely, the ability to transfer forces to the territory of the Eastern Mediterranean, the north of the Middle East, Transcaucasia, and part of continental Europe.

Among the many goals, the United States has set for itself are: strengthening relations with Romania; developing cooperation with Turkey; strengthening influence in Ukraine. In all of the above, NATO plays a key role.

All deliveries through this region will be entirely dependent on Russia. Moscow received the right to control the supply of raw materials or cut them off if necessary. In this case, cooperation with Moscow will become a necessity for countries whose trade routes are threatened with closure. Other countries have been dramatically deprived of these opportunities. The United States must come to terms with the idea that its military strength does not prevail in the region. Thus, NATO is gradually losing its authority among the countries of the Black Sea region, and Moscow is becoming its main partner.

A beautiful picture is emerging in which Russia is becoming the clear winner. However, not everything is as smooth as it seems at first glance. Unstable relations with Turkey and the divergence of views between Putin and Erdogan become an obstacle.

Scott McCann, a researcher at the John Quincy Adams Society and Business Insider columnist, expressed a vocal opinion about the importance of Ukraine for American interests, giving them a low rating. He called Ukraine itself too overvalued. The Sea Breeze exercises were severely criticized by him, and he also called them “senseless provocation” by the United States.

Back in December 2020, the Biden administration began to declare movement towards the restoration of US leadership and further cooperation with allies in the Black Sea region. Among the many goals, the United States has set for itself are: strengthening relations with Romania; developing cooperation with Turkey; strengthening influence in Ukraine. In all of the above, NATO plays a key role.

In early July of this year, international naval exercises of the countries that are NATO members began on the territory of the Black Sea. Participants included the United States and Ukraine. The main purpose of the exercise was also announced – to ensure security in the region. Russia, as always, is presented as the main threat.

These are not the first provocative actions of the United States and Ukraine against Russia that have worried the entire world community. The consequences of such provocations are difficult to predict. Events could begin to develop as follows: a military conflict, the purpose of which would be to intercept the Crimean peninsula by Ukraine. Otherwise – the next actions that do not lead to any consequences, the more serious.

Success! You're on the list.

The possibility that the United States will leave Ukraine, depriving it of all support and assistance, is extremely small. In American hands, there are still important cards, one of which is the Donbas. The southeastern part of Ukraine, where the DPR and LPR are located, is one of the invariable methods of pressure on Moscow.

Putin’s last words that the Donbas does not seem necessary to Kyiv, and that Russians and Ukrainians are one people, have greatly worried the Western community. The West began to put forward its own theories in which Russia is trying to seize Donbas. It goes without saying that these are only theories that may well be called absurd. Most of the inhabitants of the LDNR are representatives of the Russian people, whose rights began to be infringed upon after the Euromaidan, and their lives are in danger to this day. Residents of Donetsk and Luhansk have become victims of US efforts to suppress Russia.
